Fallen Petals

Valentine’s Day is over

Red roses sighed

As I danced in the breeze

You came with a knife

Cut my root

In the shop

He called my name

In his hand I swayed

When he looked at her

I knew I was not the one

How sweet!

Graced in syrup

She honoured me proudly

I burst into laughter

With the blabbering lassie

Love was labelled

When you slept on my petals

Next dawn you forgot me

Between sweet and sour

I was so puzzled

In my desire

You will be my friend

I will not wish to see you near

You are the love

And I am the beauty
