Nightmare

In the alley
Fear was my companion
Senses were twisted with the thoughts of distress
Fright of fall muddled with  the twists and turns
Familiar ways
Strange in the fear of nervousness

Anxious mind concerned about chasing shades
Worried thoughts,
Held on to the things on hand
Troubled heart shouted  to run

In the dimness, up there a sharp blade
Is it going through the heart?
Or I was picturing
Couldn’t think of anything

In the surprise I was soaked
Gasping voice shouted comfort
In the middle of the night,
I just smiled
A dream is ended and so am I.
